Kirby MEA held its annual sales conference on 14 February 2019, at the Marriott Hotel Sisli, Istanbul, Turkey. The conference was attended by Executives and Senior Management members in addition to Kirby MEA sales, operations and administration staff.
Samir Kasem, CEO, conducted a town hall meeting, wherein he emphasized on “Perseverance” and stated “you learn more through perseverance because it is not easy to get things done. He also addressed questions from the audience related to price competition in tough times, new competition, economy of scale, online technology and stress management. He closed the discussion by quoting: “Focus on what you can control as focusing on what you can’t control is wasted energy.”
D Raju, Vice President – Kirby International, updated the audience on Kirby International’s performance in 2018. He also stressed on the importance of Kirby brand and build strong customer relationships to stay ahead of the competition. Raju emphasized on customer service thru a survey finding of Harvard Business review. He concluded by encouraging the team to take action steps with respect to “Employee engagement Engagement & Customer Service”.
James Minato, Senior General Manager – Kirby MEA, addressed the audience by showcasing the complex and nonstandard projects designed and executed by Kirby team which was in line towards the innovation journey that Kirby had begun in 2018, and stressed on “Sustaining the Core Business while Exploring New Horizons” to maintain the company’s position as a pioneer and innovator in the metal building Industry. He also presented Kirby’s high level business plan summary and initiatives for 2019.
During the conference a “Product Innovation” session was held to provide sales team with additional tools to cater to ever changing metal building industry. The session helped the audience to engage with each other and share innovative ideas and solution to tackle the current market condition.
The conference was concluded with awards ceremony, which highlighted outstanding performances in 2018 in various categories, where each of the 18 recipients received a shield of merit.
Overall, the annual sales conference was a great success, leaving the entire Kirby MEA team motivated, inspired, and eager to engage with their customers and deliver a successful 2019.
