Madras Rubber Factory (MRF) Ltd., Company has invested Rs 900 crore on the 200-acre plant to cater both domestic and export requirements. The production capacity is initially of 3.5 lakh radial tyres (for both trucks and cars) and nearly 2,500 jobs would be created. Kirby Building Systems was privileged to partner MRF in this prestigious project.
Kirby estimated the project with due care for all technical specifications and was checked for perfections by senior design management to avoid any ambiguity for design finalization. The project was completed within budget. The elegant design contributed to complex PEB requirements. Pipe sections were used for a bracing system for the most efficien and economical solution. Over 250 numbers of 18m long heavy jack beams are used to avoid intermediate columns.
Buildings were completed within contracted time to customer’s satisfaction as per civil fronts available. MRF Ltd.,will started production at its Tiruchi plant in the first quarter of the 2012 calendar year.
Kirby India Pvt. Ltd. followed a defined occupation health safety (OHS) policy and management system, providing 68.2% average man-day training onsite. A good safety record while maintaining excellent proactive measures ensured that Kirby’s MRF project execution team celebrated successful completion of 1 million safe man hours without loss time injury. Kirby received special appreciation from Jones Lang LaSalle, the project site in-charge, praising our world class safety standards. Kirby also got an appreciation letter from Tata Consulting Engineers, the Technical Consultant, and MRF Limited.
